This weekend I took a quick trip down to the Philadelphia area to visit some friends. While I don’t have much in the way of food ideas, since the people I was staying with happen to be the BEST at gluten free food. I did, however, find a super great tip to help with solo roadtripping: PODCASTS.
I’ve driven more than halfway across the country multiple times, but I’ve always had a companion. The drive was about 6 hours. I packed food to save time, but I was worried about staying awake and aware driving for that long and such a long distance. I’ve never been a podcast or audio book person. I’ve always figured I’d prefer to read books and articles directly. But let me tell ya, I was wrong. That’s not to say that I don’t still prefer reading, but there’s a soft spot in my heart for podcasts now.
Moral of the story: solo road trips + podcasts (+caffeine) = no falling asleep at the wheel and lot’s of random facts at your disposal!
